Monday and Sick

Good morning-
Our little man is sick! I thought last week he had his "first" cold, I was wrong. Yesterday, and really Sat. night, was the beginning of this nasty that has taken over Caleb's upper respiratory system! So, the little champ is taking the saltine drops and the bulb every few hours! And can I share that the first time I used the bulb, and got something out, I felt like a champion too!! I think only a mom can claim this feeling of  getting snot out of someone else's nose as a good thing... prior to I would have never put it on my list of Yays! : )

Tonight Caleb gets to meet his grandpa Bill and his girlfriend Vicky, and later this week he'll get to meet his 3rd cousin Mattie traveling in from ACU. I started writing down all Caleb's past, present, and future planned visits, and this little guy should feel like a celebrity for the next three months!

And on a final note, Kyle will be taking his first week long conference trip. He'll be headed to Chicago on Friday. I know he has to go, but we are already sad he'll be gone for so long
*for those of you who travel more for work, I'm sorry. I know a week is nothing, but this is more than the normal 24 hour trip's Kyle has been on before*

Oh and I have three more weeks of classes, then finals, then I'm done with my 4 semester of grad school!!! less then a year to go!
Love,
Jenny

Caleb's first month

Here are some pictures from Caleb's first month!

Week of long...

Even though it's going to be a great weekend... the week has been long...

-Caleb had his first "mini" cold
(I'm really the one who got sick! And my thought is, it's winter time it's going to happy at some point or another)
-We've had some 2 and 3am wake up's
(not because Caleb was hungry, hurt, or needed a dipper change, no my friends, my son likes to move from one end of the crib to the other, in his sleep. He would keep moving except he keeps bumping his head against the crib and each time cries aloud! So I wake up to a sleeping kid who is crying...)
-And we've had some moments were Caleb expressed his opinion of bath time by screaming so loud that his Nana and Abuelito woke up from down stairs, Kyle had to come in and help me, since I was 1/2 naked and trying to calm down a wiggling, wet, screaming, red faced baby boy
Throw in a test for my voice science class, two days of clinic, one new diagnostic test and report, and Kyle almost breaking his finger while making his cookies last night... and we have a week in our lives...

BUT now it is Friday! We are at Gran's and Pop's house with Chad, Noah and Ben (Amy is home on an important mission of love! Miss you sweet girl!), we are planning on seeing Harry Potter tomorrow morning and by golly I'm hoping to get at least 5 hours of sleep tonight!!
Here's wishing,
Love,
Jenny

The Beginning

Good morning!
Or it has been since our first round at 4 am. Our little guy is learning to "sleep" through the night, and we've been sleeping for about 5 hours each night for about three days!! This is a vast improvement from the first few weeks of 45 minute shifts! but I have a feeling the 7-8 hour night sleep is coming soon... and then it's on to the 10 hours a night!!
This blog is being set up for the purpose of keeping our dear loved ones on a weekly update. But it does come with a warning. I'm not the best speller (though I have learned to used a dictionary thanks to my husband!), and I'm a full-time graduate student. Which means I didn't get a lot of sleep before our sweet baby entered the world, now I'm in a permanent state of deprivation! So some silliness or sadness is be to expected.
We hope you all enjoy,
Love the Carters
